YOU CAN’T WIN A CENT IF YOUR DOGS DRAWN AREN’T ENTERED AND PRESENT IN BOTH SHOWS 

These are the two main Bull Terrier Championship Shows - the 46^th Championship Show of the South African Bull Terrier Club, back to back with the Highveld Ridge Bull Terrier Club Championship Show at the Goldfields Kennel Club grounds on Saturday, 2^nd June 2012. The SABTC – founded in 1942 – is 70 years young this year and this is a very special show with England’s Keith Goodwin of Ounsdale Bull Terrier fame judging – fresh from his UK Major Trophy Show success.  This is another ROM show.  Up and coming young breeder/judge and Bully livewire, Adri Els of Sasolburg, is judging the HRBTC’s 21^st Championship Show immediately after Keith Goodwin has completed the SABTC show.  So let’s put on a great performance to make the Bull Terrier community proud on these two special anniversary occasions.

Entries are flooding in and the closing date is rapidly approaching, so please don’t let us wait!!!  Show us you are determined to get your entries in before the 21^st May. 

THERE ARE ALSO TWO GRAND PRIZES OF R1000 EACH UP FOR GRABS IN A LUCKY DRAW AFTER THE TWO SHOWS. All you have to do to qualify for both lucky draws is to have at least one dog (THE SAME ONE) registered in your name present and in the ring at both shows.  The numbers of all dogs present in the ring at both shows will go into a hat after the HRBTC’s show and a lucky number of a dog will be drawn from the hat for each show.  The owner/s of the lucky dogs will then win R1000 each, or if the same dog’s number is drawn twice or a different dog from the same owner’s kennel comes up in the second draw, that owner will win both prizes and be R2000 better off!!!  SO THE MORE DOGS YOU ENTER AND HAVE IN THE RING AT BOTH SHOWS THE BETTER YOUR CHANCES ARE OF WINNING BOTH OR AT LEAST ONE OF THE PRIZES!!!!  SO DON’T HOLD BACK – ENTER ALL YOUR BULL TERRIERS IF YOU LIKE.

WE ARE HAVING A BRING AND BRAAI AND OFFICIAL PRIZE GIVING AFTER THE TWO SHOWS AT WHICH EVERYONE IS WELCOME.  It is being held in front of the club house and the bar will be open, so all you need to bring are yourselves, your families and your eats.  The fires and coals will be ready for you, and Keith Goodwin will tell you what he thinks of our Bull Terriers.

SABTC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING FINAL AGENDA FOR WEDNESDAY, 30^TH MAY 2012

All SABTC Annual Members who have not yet renewed your membership for this year, please do so urgently. The required form to be completed is here. Existing Annual Members need to pay R65 into the SABTC’s bank account (details on the form just below the Club logo) and e-mail or fax your form with proof of payment to the membership manager, Andre Strydom at atstrydom@mweb.co.za or 086 273 4563 (fax). We recommend ten year membership at only R400 for existing members or R415 for new members. It will cost you only R40 a year till the end of 2021, protect you against increases which are due any moment and save you and the office a lot of administration, etc. Existing members simply update your details on the renewal form, sign and send it in with your proof of payment.

RECOGNITION OF MERIT AWARD [ROM]

The updated and latest SABTC Recognition of Merit Award (ROM) rules and regulations as from May 2011 can be found here. This system has been in operation without interruption since January 2005, but unfortunately was not properly publicised in the past.  It will now be properly promoted on this Website and in SABTC NewsBullytins.  Only four special champion Bull Terriers have qualified for this prestigious award since 2005.  They are the bitch, Ch Dajamani Valnico of Bellators (Supreme Bull Terrier 2005), and the dogs, Ch Dajan Skies the Limit at Sandawana - Imported UK (Supreme BT 2004 & Stud Dog of the Year 2006), Ch Carradice Free Spirit and Ch Lubjan Monchou of Rhizen (Supreme BT 2010), in that order.  Although Ch Carradice Free Spirit was not crowned Supreme Bull Terrier, he has been Stud Dog of the Year the past two years.  This is a clear indication of how extremely special the ROM title is to indicate the very best of the best of our Champions.  This title should spur us on to show our Champions in the Champions class and also show our aspiring champions for CC’s and BOB to gain ROM points by beating Champions for BOB at Championship shows.  The fully updated ROM Register will soon be published on this Website.
